Whether you’re running a ‘successful’ blog, or you’re just starting out, blogging can be a solitary job (yes…it’s a JOB). But it can also be very rewarding.
But if you’re networking with other bloggers, it’s a mutually beneficial endeavor.
Because of this blog, I’ve met some really incredible, giving people. I tend to be a bit of an introvert, but networking with other bloggers has been two things for me and for my blog; incredibly easy, and ridiculously helpful, in any number of ways, and it can be for you too.
Here are 5 awesome reasons why you should network with other bloggers:
Share your knowledge
Regardless of what stage you’re at with your own blog, there’s always someone with a question that you know the answer to, because you’ve been through what they’re going through with their blog. If you’ve got issues with your blogging platform, there’s always someone that you can reach out to for help, and vice versa. There will always be someone that you can help with their own blogging issues, and helping someone else feels really good.
Get access to different groups
Once you start networking with other bloggers, you might be asked to join a group of like-minded bloggers, and that’s awesome! I think when I first started my blog, I was just naive enough to think that I could simply go on Facebook and click the “Join” button on any number of groups that I thought looked ‘good’, and for the most part, that works! You can meet some amazing bloggers in a Facebook group, sometimes even others who live in your city!
Exchange Guest Posts
In your blogging travels, you’re going to come across other bloggers that you admire, some in your own niche with whom you can trade guest posts. Having another ‘voice’ on your blog can be a cool change for your readers, and it allows your guest blogger access to an audience that they might not have had before, and vice versa; you’ll gain the same when you guest post for others.
Networking with other Bloggers keeps you in a positive mindset
Blogging can be draining. There. I said it. It can make you feel like what you’re doing isn’t ever going to turn into anything, so you might as well just pack it all in now.
Networking with other bloggers keeps you from climbing out onto the ‘blogging ledge’ when you feel like you’re at your wits end; whether it’s with writer’s block or frustrations with WordPress (been there), having other bloggers to relate to and ‘talk you down’ is an incredible asset.
Networking with other bloggers grows your social media channels too
It’s inevitable; if you’re networking with other bloggers, especially in groups, your own social networks are going to grow as well, especially if you’re guest posting. In addition, if you’re networking with other bloggers, you’ll likely be supporting each other, by distributing each other’s posts from your social media accounts. Their own followers are going to follow your accounts (and vice versa). It’s win win!
So HOW should you go about finding other bloggers to network with?
Honestly, the easiest way to start networking with others who’re doing exactly what you do, is Facebook. Facebook groups are, without question, the easiest way to find other bloggers in your niche that you can network with. There are groups specifically for those in your niche and many, many others.
Simply log into your Facebook account (because you know you have to have one), look on the left side of the screen, and click on “groups”. Voila! Simply scroll to the niche you’re looking for, and browse the trillions of groups, until you find one you like!
