One of the most loved rooms in my home is the bedroom. Regardless of where I’ve ever lived; house, apartment, etc., I’ve always felt like the bedroom was the space that I had to feel “at home” in. We all want to feel that way. The bedroom is supposed to be the place in which we’re most ‘rested’. If you don’t have a big budget for decorating, here are some great ideas that will help you make your bedroom as serene and cozy as you need it to be! These are simple, but effective ideas that will make your room look and feel amazing.
Throw down a rug
A rug can sometimes be the one things that makes a room ‘Pop’. A rug can add warmth and comfort to a space where there previously was none. Choose a color that matches, or accents the room.
Add Personality with Color
Utilize bright, bold colors in the form of a bed spread or throw blanket. A printed bedspread can make the world of difference when it comes to adding some ‘personality’ to a room.
Move the Furniture Around
Every once in awhile, I get to this emotional place where I feel like I need to switch things up a bit. Switching up the furniture in my apartment usually does the trick.
Sometimes, something as simple as rearranging the room can make a huge difference in how it feels. This is probably the simplest way I know of to make a room brand new. and it doesn’t cost a dime.
Paint a Wall
If you’re not ready to paint an entire room, making one wall a different color can make a room feel like a whole new space.
Buy a New Duvet Cover or Comforter
Change the bed. Buy a whole new set of bed linens, including sheets and pillow shams. If you’re not able to buy an entire set, then get just get a couple of items. The bed covering and pillow shams make the biggest difference, so I’d probably start with those.
Grab a New Lamp
I love lamps! Bedside lamps can be very stylish, are cozy, and they’re useful as well. Small bedside lamps or even nightlights can be quite inexpensive if you shop around. You could also try putting up new wall sconces above your bed, dresser, or on either side of a wall mirror for additional style.
Surf for Great Deals
By hitting up websites like Overstock.com and the sales sections of your favorite home decor sites, you can snag some great deals on everything from bedding to floor coverings.
Create Your Own Artwork
Adding a more personal touch to your space by grabbing that camera that you tossed into a drawer months ago, heading out and taking some of your very own photos! Once done, you can find inexpensive frames at Ikea or even at your neighborhood dollar store (believe it or not).
